They won't udate/revise their 'book', or modify their violent and murderous ways. There is only one way to deal with them and that's with methods they use and understand. Otherwise, we will dealing with them killing innocents for the rest of eternity. I just calls'em as I sees'em.
They should rewrite their book as soon as the Bible takes out all of the killing, the slavery, the multiple brides, war in the name of God, etc. Oh, and who dropped A bombs on civilians? And what country invaded Iraq on a false casus belli, thereby destabilizing the Middle East and leading to the rise of Isis? Um, you guessed it, the country that calls a "Christian nation." Such are facts easily ignored by the willfully ignorant.
I believe the imams and religious leaders should instruct their worshippers to stop killing anyone and everyone who is not a Muslim. There is room for other religions. Jewish nation has a right to live and survive in the world. Christians have the right to live freely and worship as they wish.
It would be wonderful if it were possible. For one thing, unlike Christianity, to question the word of Allah (the direct word mind you, not man's scribbling - these are supposed to be the direct words of Allah - unchangeable) is blasphemy. This is a death sentence, as is apostasy. There is nothing voluntary about this belief system - adherents serve a very useful purpose as a shield for a brutal system of governance - sharia - this is compulsory.
In fact, Koran 9:60 provides that 1/8 of 'zakat' (that pillar of Islam that all Muslims and Islamic businesses i.e. halal products and Islamic finance must contribute to) must be spent on 'the cause of Allah' - which is jihad - activist groups qualify. What other belief system finances its own military?
The other component is the 'sunnah' traditions and stories about Mohammed. The man is dead. His life can't be changed. He is considered the perfect example that Muslims are supposed to emulate. Mohammed had between 600-900 Jews beheaded in a single day because they refused to accept Islam and follow him. Allah and Mohammed are the highest authorities in Islam for both Sunni and Shia and the attitude towards the unbeliever is sacrosanct.
So who is going to challenge that? Look at what happens to people who try.
