Walmart is Ditching Chicago & CNN Can't Handle the Truth
By Sam Stone
CNN is channeling Jack Nicholson’s character in A Few Good Men for all they’re worth.
Democrat policies on crime and homelessness, combined with punishing taxes and regulations, are creating a toxic environment for retail activity. Chicago’s Walmart stores are the latest victim. But if you listen to CNN, Walmart spent millions of dollars at the urging of Chicago Democrats to build stores that then lost millions more because of corporate greed and racism. Apparently, you can’t handle the truth.
And the truth is straightforward. Walmart’s net profit margin in 2022 was about two percent. That’s in line - though on the low end - for retail stores, and what they make per item if you average everything out. Now what happens when someone comes into their store and steals $1,000 worth of goods? First, Chicago Democrats let the perpetrator off the hook entirely. Second, that Walmart location now needs to sell $50,000 worth of goods to just break even against the theft.
Now multiply that by several or more thefts per day, sometimes even attacks by large groups of organized thieves who steal tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise at a time, and you can see why Walmart is fleeing Chicago.
Better than CNN does at any rate. If you want to read their garbage liberal trope masquerading as news reporting, here it is: https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/15/business/walmart-chicago-closing-corporate-america/index.html. But for the sake of saving time and sparing you another attempted leftist brainwashing, let me just summarize CNN’s take: Walmart is greedy, Democrats need to be tougher on corporations. Crime? Not even mentioned.
So what’s the truth? Democrat policies are destroying cities, driving out businesses, and victimizing hard-working Americans on the alter of leftist ideology. That’s the truth and it’s the mainstream media that can’t handle it.
