It is being reported that the Trump Administration has an order to ban certain books from the U.S. Naval Academy Library.
ABC News added, "The institution's Nimitz Library has been stripped of 381 titles, according to a list first published in the New York Times, including works exploring race, gender, and national identity."
Read the articles. What is your opinion?
You make your decision, but this seems unnecessary. Should we ban sexually oriented books from elementary school libraries? Yes. You do not even have a good argument for targeting our kids with this sexual propaganda, but DEI books from universities and military academies? Come on.
Our military academies have some of our best and brightest who want to serve their country. They more than anyone know what they have sworn to protect and defend.
America should be a free marketplace of ideas. End of discussion.
I reached out to several men I know who graduated from the Naval Academy or other military academies and are currently serving. None of these soldiers would ever be considered liberal or moderate. Actually they were all Trump voters. They all had the same opinion regarding this move, but the best quote came from an unnamed Navy Seal:
"If accurate, I think it's bullshit to purge books."
These are the men ready to protect America 24/7. We probably should consult with them a little more on such decisions.
P.S. One sad insight with this exercise is that they all gave the caveat, "if accurate." Dear media and reporters, you have no clue how much you've damaged your profession and the Fourth Estate. You reap what you sow.

If the listed books are indeed perverse propaganda. Why should taxpayers be paying for them to be stocked in US military academies? This stocking of such books seems a good example of the “waste, fraud and abuse” that needs to be expunged for the USA commonweal.
