Ok, I don’t actually know if the IQ of environmentalists is now lower than it’s ever been before. But it sure seems that way, so let’s put it in a chart and call it The Science™. It won’t be any less valid than The Science™ greens keep pushing:
The latest (ridiculous, unscientific, impact-intensive) BS the Green Movement is peddling comes from Germany. Germany, for U.S. citizens not vested in watching Europe’s intentional cultural and economic suicide pact in action, is the world leader in stupid energy decisions.
In 2021, Germany declared their intent to go totally carbon-free by 2045. A major part of that plan: shuttering all their nuclear plants despite the fact nuclear plants produce no emissions.
In 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine creating a massive cost spike and instability in Germany’s primary natural gas market.
In 2023, Germany completed the shutdown of their last nuclear reactor.
So…what has Germany done since 2021 to achieve their green dream is close down their most reliable, abundant source of clean energy, fund Russia’s war against Ukraine while claiming to be supporting Ukraine, and massively increase their use of coal – spiking total emissions far above recent levels. In 2022, German coal burning spiked, and while that use tapered off in 2024, in 2025 wind and solar conditions have once again forced Germany to rely heavily on coal.
Now Germany is touting their “Balcony Solar” program achieving 1 million installations:
Which would be a lot cooler if they still didn’t need another 2.15 million of them to equal ONE of the nuclear plants they closed. If German Greens weren’t opposed to nuclear, the country would produce lower levels of carbon emissions than the country currently does. But it gets worse, because solar panels and the batteries to support large scale solar and wind energy are some of the most toxic products on the planet. Of course, nuclear energy involves mining uranium – but the amounts needed are miniscule compared to the amount of cobalt and other heavy metals used for green energy production, and storage of nuclear waste is not the bugaboo anti-nuclear activists make of it. 96% of nuclear waste can be recycled to produce more energy. And with tiny remainder is easily handled: all you do is put the spent metal rods in a lead barrel and call it good. Zero issues.
Folks, how dumb do you have to be not to understand this simple fact: if your goal is lower emissions, nuclear energy is your best friend?
