Whoever is organizing the anti-deportation protests over the past few days must have had a hand in the Democratic National Committee parody leadership votes and gender rules this weekend.
So here is some free advice: if you want to turn hearts and minds your way, DO NOT be waving Mexican or any other country's flag.
In all likelihood, your street protests have been organized by one or some coalition of NGOs, non-profits, unions and so-called "religious" charities. If you have not noticed, these public money grifters have not learned anything from November 2024.
As Axios reported in January:
"Two-thirds of Americans support deporting immigrants who are in the country illegally. However there is very little support for deporting legal immigrants.
Sixty-six percent support deporting immigrants who are in the country illegally. Republicans (93%) are more likely to show support than Democrats (43%) and independents (67%).
Few Americans (11%) support deporting immigrants who are in the country legally."
Based on those recent polling numbers, odds are stacked against you.
If you want to be here, then act like you love America — not some entitled freeloader — we are not the European Union.
Your message must be "I want to be an American. This is my adopted land. I want to be here legally and want a path. I want to live the American Dream."
Stop acting like this is some xenophobic campaign plan. Remember, only 11% of Americans support deporting immigrants who are in the country legally. In 2022, the United States allowed nearly 2.6 million people to legally immigrate. No one is talking about reducing that number.
There is a right way; there is a wrong way. You are doing this all wrong.
Stop being dumb asses and blocking traffic or waving any other flag except the United States of America. That only tells the 66 percent that Trump's course of action is the correct one. Hint: we do not want to be Mexico or any other country.
Learn this lesson, change your tone, then maybe you might start winning some sympathy from the American public.
