Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle has just resigned. It’s a shame it came to this. She should have been fired instead. Cheatle’s Secret Service pooched the screw in a nearly unimaginable way. And the assassination attempt was as preventable as it was momentous. We know, without a doubt, that for HOURS, security was aware of a potential threat, and did nothing about it. The site was not properly secured ahead of time. The plan of deployment was riddled with holes and miscommunication. Local law enforcement was granted a larger-than-normal role, but left almost entirely without guidance. Random attendees at the speech did a better job of looking out for Trump than the Secret Service did.
Had Trump been killed on that stage, the Cold Civil War that has blanketed this country since 2016 would have gone hot. Guaranteed. There is no greater failure than that, and it was Cheatle’s fault. It is only by the Grace of God that the U.S. is not being torn apart by a civil war. Her screwup really was that big.
That Kim Cheatle was allowed to resign is a disgrace. In the last few decades, government employees have become almost immune to the consequences of failure. Under the Biden administration, they are immune.
They botched the Afghan pullout, got 13 U.S. service members killed, left thousands of U.S. citizens behind, and abandoned hundreds more loyal Afghan interpreters to be slaughtered. There were zero consequences for anyone in a position of authority.
Government bureaucrats and leaders lied about everything related to Covid, implemented anti-scientific mandates creating lockdowns that harmed society in general and our children more specifically, and…nothing happened.
A train de-railed in Palestine, OH carrying a load of toxic chemicals, and the federal government sat on its hands for days while local agencies struggled to contain the damage. No one faced any recriminations for their failure.
There are many more examples, but no one ever gets made an example of. The U.S. government is an incompetent, overmanaged, DEI-obsessed mess with zero accountability. For the good of the country, it’s time to start firing people again. Cheatle resigned, but will soon be back in the corporate sector, making millions guarding bags of Cheetos. She should be on the unemployment line filling out a SNAP application instead.
